Graduating? Sweet!
Know what else is sweet? These cute and yummy little grad caps made out of chocolate. Yes, chocolate. (Mmm…chocolate.)
Here’s what you’ll need:
• Milk Chocolate bar, 1.55 ounce size
• M&M® Minis®
• Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures
• Embroidery floss in your school colors
• Plastic baggy
• Scissors
• Cookie sheet lined with waxed or parchment paper
• Cake pan lined with waxed or parchment paper
• Freezer space
Here’s what you’ll do:
• cut pieces of the embroidery floss into 2” pieces
• tie one little knot toward one end of each piece of floss
• sort your school colors out from the M&M Minis or use all the colors
• unwrap the peanut butter cup (TIP: if slightly frozen they’ll unwrap in a snap)
• break the chocolate bar into squares (2 rectangles), each bar should make 4 squares, with 4 leftover pieces
• place a few of the leftover chocolate rectangles into a bowl for melting in the microwave then transfer to a plastic baggy.
How to put it all together:
• put the peanut butter cup upside down on the lined cookie sheet
• snip a little hole in the corner of the plastic baggy and add a large dot of melted chocolate to the peanut butter cup
• place a square of chocolate, smooth side up, centered on the peanut butter cup
• add a small dot of melted chocolate to the center of the chocolate square
• place the un-knotted end of the floss in the dot of melted chocolate
• top with M&M Mini
• place cookie sheet in the freezer until the melted chocolate has set
• store in cake pans in the freezer
Then serve them up on fun cake stands, trays and plates. They’ll go super-fast when you have full-color napkins printed with your senior picture right beside them. Time? About 3 minutes per cap, faster if you have an assembly line of helpers.
