Fourth of July DIY Paper Lanterns

The Fourth of July is just around the corner and we’re sure you are busy getting ready for your party! Besides all the delicious food, beverages and fireworks – don’t forget about the decorations! We have an amazingly easy creative crush that will look great at your party.

What you need:
– 12’’ x 12’’ red, white and blue paper (we added in some glitter paper for fun)
– Festive ribbon
– Star stickers
– Stapler
– Scissors
– String or twine

How to make the lanterns:
Fold a piece of paper in half the long way so it is now a rectangle. Take a scissors and cut marks along the fold about an inch apart. Make sure to leave about an inch from the edge uncut.

Next, unfold the paper and begin to roll it the opposite way to form a “lantern” shape. When you are satisfied with your lantern, secure each end with a staple.

Now it’s time for the fun part, decorate each lantern with fun star stickers and ribbon! Then poke a hole in the top of each lantern (one on each side) and string twine or ribbon through each one. Now all you need to do is find the perfect place to hang your creation.
