Table cloth or runner
There is no easier way to bring color to your dinner table than with a cloth or a runner. Choose fabric that coordinates well with your dinnerware and stemware. Make sure that if you opt for a runner, it’s either the same length or shorter than your tablecloth.
Place cards
If you’re having a big group over for Thanksgiving dinner, make sure that everyone knows where their place at the table is by setting out place cards. You could opt for simple ecru cards and handwrite each name, or consider a fall or Thanksgiving theme with this printed ecru place card for the perfect party stationery. Neutral colored place cards can stand out beautifully against a boldly hued linen napkin.
Rustic centerpiece
Draw attention to the center of your dinner table with an arrangement of roses, hydrangeas, dahlias and ranunculus. Use autumn leaves, berries and bare branches as fillers and put the centerpieces atop a salvaged wooden board.
A buffet table
Having a large centerpiece and several bowls of food on the table can make for a crowded arrangement. Instead, keep things organized by setting up a buffet table near the dinner area and let your family and friends help themselves to their favorite Thanksgiving foods. You can use menu cards so everyone can easily identify each dish.
Candles
Keep the room warm, comfortable and illuminated with holiday candles placed around the table. Be sure to use unscented candles, however, to make sure that the fragrances don’t compete with the enticing aromas coming from your plate.
