2014 wedding trend: geometric patterns

One of the trends that you can look forward to in the new year is the use of geometric patterns in everything from wedding invitations to table runners. A geometric design is often made up of structured lines for a modern motif. This type of pattern is most often found within the art deco theme. Here are a few ways to incorporate this new trend into your upcoming nuptials:

Wedding invitations
Set the tone by sending your guests the appropriately themed invitations. This Deco Marquee – Invitation showcases an ornate black architectural frame at the bottom of the card, which is elegantly tied with a piece of gold ribbon.

Vases
Instead of opting for vases that are round, look for vases that are equipped with sharp lines and angles. Fill them with your favorite bloom and group them together on reception tables for a fun geometric centerpiece.

Sweet treats
Have your baker adorn whatever sweet treats you have chosen with geometric patterns. Bold stripes, chevron and diamonds are all just a few designs that you can put on display.

Bridesmaid dresses
Have your bridal party rock the geometric style on their gowns. Get together with your girls to find a dress with a bold print. It could be something as simple as thick stripes running across the hem of the gown.
