A patriotic playlist
One of the ways a party can achieve greatness is through its music. It keeps the upbeat momentum going up until the very last guest exits. Switch it up between new and old patriotic tunes. Some of my favorites include "Travelin' Soldier" by the Dixie Chicks, "R.O.C.K. in the USA" by John Mellencamp, "American Pie" by Don McLean and "American Girl" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Games
Bring out the bags to play a game of corn hole between friends, or start a pickup game of the good ol' American favorite: baseball. For the adults, bring a deck of cards outside with a cold beer or a fruity cocktail and play some poker or blackjack under the sun's rays.

Grilling out is a staple during an outdoor Memorial Day party. The weather's getting warmer and there's nothing better than a grilled hot dog or hamburger. But first, you must make sure that the grill is ready to go. Get enough propane to cook all of the food your guests can handle and stock up on grilling tools.
