DIY Tie Dye Sharpie Coasters

Looking for a last minute DIY project for the end of summer? If so, we thought of the perfect craft –SHARPIE COASTERS! These artsy, one-of-a-kind additions to your coffee table will make anyone envious of your art skills.

In just a few easy steps, you can create these beautiful tiles quickly and they are super cheap!

Here’s what you need:

  • White ceramic tiles
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Small straw or eyedropper
  • Fine tip Sharpie markers
  • Spray sealant
  • Felt dots

First wash the tiles with soap and water to make sure you are working with a clean surface. Next color with Sharpies, mix and match colors and layers – each coaster will look different if you change things up.

Place drops of rubbing alcohol onto the tile with a straw or eyedropper. The color will begin to spread on the tile. Be sure not to add too much at a time or the colors will blur together. We let some of our tiles dry and then we went back with more rubbing alcohol to add to the design.

Once the tiles have dried and you are satisfied with you designs, spray the sealant them. This will make sure that the marker won’t come off when you use them. Lastly add little felt circles to the bottoms of each tile so they won’t scratch your table.

These coasters are super easy and seriously fabulous!
