Check these things off of your post-engagement list

You’ve finally found out what it’s like for your better half to get down on one knee and propose marriage. Now you’re engaged! A flurry of thoughts about wedding cakes, sparkly gowns and bouquets of flowers are likely spinning in your head. It can be hard to determine what you want to do and what you should be doing.

Get your ring sized
Because of all the movies you may have seen where a woman gets a ring slipped on her finger, you’re probably expecting yours to fit just as snug. But the truth of the matter is, there may be a little wiggle room, or maybe it’s too tight! It’s nothing to worry about, and it’s super easy to fix. Simply get the ring sized, which may only take a few hours, and you’ll have it back on your finger to show off in no time.

Set a date kinda
Because you just got engaged, you don’t have to have an exact date set yet. But people are going to be asking you the same question over and over again: “Have you set a date?” Come up with a vague-yet-specific answer, like “we’re shooting for late 2014.” You may even want to start shopping around for save the date announcements.

Enjoy being engaged
You may realize there is a long list ahead of you of things for which you have to do and plan. But that doesn’t mean that you have to start planning the second he or she pops the question. Give yourself time to relax and simply enjoy being engaged!
