How to throw a wine tasting engagement party

Before sending out your save the date announcements, you may want to pick out some invitations for your engagement party! While you might be eager to begin wedding planning, it’s important to take some time to celebrate this big event with your friends, family and fiance. Soak in the moment with an engagement party – but not just any soiree. Get together with your loved ones for a sophisticated, fun and elegant wine tasting engagement event. Here are a few tips to help you pull it off:

Share bottles
When you send out your personalized invitations, make a note to ask your guests to bring their favorite bottle of wine to share with others. This way, you’ll have plenty of different varieties to try out during the party. You should also supply some wine for the event.

Choose a venue
You can decide to have the event right in your own home, or you could consider renting out the back room of a wine venue for the perfect rustic setting.

Pair vino with food
Make sure you have food options to pair with each wine variety. Do your research before stocking the fridge – not all dishes go well with vino. For instance, pinot grigio should be joined with light dishes, while dry riesling blends with spicy foods well. Combine your dessert with a sweet moscato.
