Supplies:
- Clothespins (41 for red, 35 for white and 21 for blue)
- Acrylic paint: red, white and blue
- Wooden stars (various sizes)
- 24″ Wire wreath
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Mod Podge®
How we did it:
After counting out the correct clothespins, we put 41 clothespins into a bag with red paint and shook it up. Then we touched them up where needed. We proceeded to do this with the blue and white pins (we decided in the end that spray paint would be a lot easier.). Next we painted the stars.
Once the paint was dry we painted a layer of Mod Podge® on all the pins. After the Mod Podge® was dry we began placing the pins on the wire wreath (make sure to place pins on the flatter side of the wreath).
We first placed all the blue pins together on the wreath and then alternated between five red pins and then five white pins. Place the pins by alternating every other pin on the first inner ring and then on the second ring.
Once all the clothespins are placed, glue on the white stars. Mix and match the sizes so that it is appealing to the eye. Let dry and get ready to celebrate the 4th of July!
