The team here at Carlson Craft has been reflecting on the last year just like so many of you, and it’s incredibly surreal to think about all of the events that have passed. As hard as the year has been, we have learned so much about ourselves, our team and the importance of the services we provide.
Here are the top 5 lessons we’re taking from 2020:
- Adaptability is key!
The pandemic has proven that our team can really come together and work toward common goals even under intense pressure. We are very proud of each other and everyone here at Carlson Craft for finding ways to work through the unpredictable nature of the pandemic.
2. We value our coworkers!
Carlson Craft includes a wide range of employees like expert print craftspeople and customer service representatives who were brave enough to come into the building every day. Our workforce also includes a large number of office employees who had to adapt to working from home in order to keep those who were coming into the building as safe as possible. No matter which situation we found ourselves in, we all have gained a new appreciation for our coworkers and the value they bring to our everyday work life!
3. Man, do we miss treat days!
Is it the food or the socializing we miss so much? Not totally sure. Probably a combination of both but I think I speak for most when I say we really took treat days for granted. We just assumed that on any given day, we could coordinate an event involving a plethora of delicious food made by our awesome coworkers and that we could come in and eat freely without abandon. I will never look at a scrumptious homemade treat with such apathy again. When the world is a little bit safer, bring on the treat days!
4. People will always find ways to celebrate.
Celebrating special occasions, milestone and moments is essential to our spirit. We have been so moved by all of the stories that have come from this year about people finding ways to celebrate even during shutdowns an isolation. We have even found a new value in the beautiful stationery products we produce for all of you. Even though weddings have been canceled or postpone, even though birthdays have been spent in isolation, even though graduations were honored via car parades, we are encouraged to see that greeting cards and event invitations have seen a revival due to their safe nature and heartfelt meaning.
5. Our customers and our retail partners rock!
Yep! All of you have remained a super special part of our business and we can’t thank you all enough. This year could have been a disaster but because of excellent teamwork and the loyalty and support of all of you, we have salvaged this year and are so lucky to call it a success despite all of the challenges.
We wish you all a safe and healthy New Year, and may 2021 be an infinitely better year for everyone!
