Finger foods
You want to serve your party guests food that’s easy to pick up and eat. Consider tailgating favorites like wings, nachos, potato skins and chips and dip. You’ll need fewer supplies and have less of a mess with simple menu items. When you head to the grocery store to buy the food, choose items that can do double duty. For example, salsa will work well for scrambled egg burritos and can double as a chip dip.
Show up early
If you’re having a parking lot party before the game, you have to get to the stadium early enough to stake out the best spot to accommodate the guests that will be arriving.
Assign tasks
To make cleanup and grilling easy, assign a few people different tasks, like grill master, garbage collector and bartender. This will ward off chaos and keep things organized.
Keep water
When draining excess melted water from your ice coolers, reserve some for rinsing off nondisposable items like tongs and spatulas.
